In 1915, communities in Govan, Glasgow, and other Clydeside towns organised against rising rents and poor living conditions. The 1915 rent strikes are an important moment in the history of working-class solidarity and direct action. This website intends to link the various ways in which the centenary of the rent strikes will be remembered in 2015, and to place it in relation to a long, continuing history of popular struggle in Clydeside.
This site is intended to facilitate collaboration between people who are interested in organising events, writing and researching, or engaging in any other way with the centenary of the rent strikes. You can share your events directly using the Calendar page (you will need to create a free WordPress account). For any other comments, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
